Must be cold - Mark with long trousers!
A coldish day with threatening rain, though it did little more than drizzle for a few minutes. We had the long hose made available for us to use, not much water pressure after such a long run, but aided by Mark's power washer it served the purpose. The problem was to get rid of the black runs down the sides of the domes and reaching up to the top of the domes. Dave and Lesley had brought a preparation for removing black runs off caravans but finally after reading the instructions we realised it needed to be used neat rather than diluted with water. Generally easier to get marks off the small dome than the larger one. However, they look as new after the hour or so spent cleaning them.
After standing back to admire the work we realised that we'd not cleaned the very top of the shutter, so had to get the brushes out again and open the shutter to get the top closer to the ground. It was then that we found difficulty in moving the shutter, limit switch problem. Finally solved by Dave getting to the switches at the top of the dome with the help of Mark's ladders, a most helpful aid to the cleaning too. All finally done, including vacuuming of both floors by Elaine, and the new carpet in the big dome. All ready for the Tour de Yorkshire next Saturday. A cup of tea and biscuits in the building for all.
Those who helped were, Dave and Lesley, Paul and Elaine, Mark, Tony, Robin and Rhys.
